Level 1 – Periodic Check-Up

This examination is conducted by an approved female or male physician. It particularly concerns:

  • Drivers aged 75 and over


The following will be evaluated:

  • Vision and hearing abilities
  • Cardiovascular system
  • Mobility
  • General physical & mental health status

Stage 2 - Advanced Medical Examination

The Stage 2 assessment is required for:

  • Professional drivers (e.g. truck, taxi, bus drivers)
  • Drivers of higher license categories
  • Individuals with specific medical conditions or notable findings

Additionally, the following will be assessed:

  • Neurological functions
  • Cognitive performance
  • Metabolic disorders (e.g. diabetes)
  • Medication use & its impact on driving ability
  • Overall physical & mental health status

Level 3 – Traffic Medical Special Examination

The level 3 examination includes a comprehensive traffic medical review & is conducted for complex medical or legal questions. It particularly takes place:

  • At the request of the Traffic Authority
  • In cases of unclear or limited driving suitability
  • With various relevant health conditions or complex medications

Important procedures for Level 3:

Before the actual examination, we require all relevant medical documents from the treating physicians (e.g., general practitioners, specialists, hospital reports). These records will be thoroughly reviewed & professionally assessed by us.

Only after receiving & reviewing all documents will an appointment for the traffic medical examination be scheduled. This approach ensures that the review can be carried out thoroughly, efficiently & in accordance with legal requirements.

What can you expect from us?

Please bring the following to the appointment:

  • Medically relevant documents
  • Official identification
  • Glasses / hearing aid (if available)
  • Current medication list
  • Any documents from the Department of Motor Vehicles
